The “GIS and Remote Sensing Lab” was founded in 2019 at the Department of Geology, University of Patras.

The aim of the laboratory is to promote the Science of Geology using Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics.

In particular, the Lab personnel intends to conduct a high level of scientific research on issues related to Cartography, Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry, and in space monitoring technologies.

The lab personnel focuses on the enhancement of the educational services offered in the Department of Geology (University of Patras), on the development of relevant educational software, the development of educational online applications of Geographic Information Systems (WebGIS) or Remote Sensing and the participation in international projects.
